Becky and Paul contacted us less than two months before a planned trip to the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Their love story is a long one – they’ve been together ten years. ‘It was just time,’ they said, when we asked why they were choosing to get married now.
They wanted to elope in Puerto Rico in a way that was beautiful and intimate. We recommended a truly amazing venue – the lighthouse Ruins in the beautiful BQN Northwest area. The Ruins of this amazing historic lighthouse, destroyed by earthquake in 1918, sits on a deserted west-facing beach, perfect for a Puerto Rico sunset beach wedding.
When we met them the day of their Puerto Rico destination wedding, we showed them The Ruins and gave them the option of a number of different places in and around, including the deserted beach below. They were fun, adventurous, and looking for something different, and asked if we could wade into the water for a truly magical ceremony. Not a problem – we were happy to help them realize their dream of a Puerto Rico elopement!
An email they sent upon their return from their honeymoon says it all – “Thank you so much for making our special day so perfect for us!! It was better than we ever imagined! You made everything so streamlined for us, recommended the BEST venue, and most of all, we really enjoyed working with you, Karina and Marquez! You are all so genuine – we talked after about how it felt like we had known you all much longer. Special thanks to you for wading in knee deep in the ocean, and to Karina and Marquez for climbing around on the rocks (and sometimes falling:-) to get the great shots. You all went above and beyond. We absolutely love the pictures!!!”
We work closely with the local community to keep the space maintained and beautiful. Indeed, for this and all the weddings that we perform there, we donate to the non-profit Rescate Playas Borinquen (www.rescateplayasbqn.com), dedicated to the protection of our nature and the restoration of our outdoor recreational areas for the increased safety and accessibility of the general public.
The Puerto Rico elopement package that Becky and Paul chose includes:
-full legal and documentation support, including checklists of exactly what you need to prepare and when
-a customized ceremony in keeping with exactly what you want your wedding experience to be
-registration of your marriage afterwards at the appropriate government office (you need not accompany us)
-one hour’s professional photography time with full release of all photos afterwards within one week
They also chose to include our videography option, including drone footage. Again, delivered in a week, it allowed them to share the wonderful experience they had when they decided to elope in Puerto Rico.
Becky and Paul, thank YOU for choosing our Puerto Rico elopement package, and for allowing us the honor and privilege to be a part of your special day. The team at Puerto Rico Destination Weddings looks forward to welcoming you back to enjoy the BQN life time and time again!
